Kære alle rotarianere i Distrikt 1480

 

Det er med stor glæde, at jeg kan fortælle jer, at vi har fået optaget vores kandidat til Peace Fellow i Distrikt 1480.

Det er første gang i distriktets historie, og kun ganske få er tidligere optaget på fredsstudie fra Danmark.  Distrikt 1470 og 1440 har tidligere haft personer igennem studierne. I har mødt en af dem på min Distriktskonference i 2017 – Anne Kjær Riechert.

Jens Emborg er en så velkvalificeret herre, at han skal deltage på den 3-måneder certificerings uddannelse ved universitetet i Bangkok, Thailand, sommeren 2019.

Jens Emborg, born 14 February 1960. His early research focused on forest ecology, where he coordinated larger strategic national and international research programs. Later, he turned to the field of Environmental Conflict Management, initiating and developing new research and teaching initiatives at the university including a popular Conflict Management Course (60-100 MSc students/yr) as well as a specialized Advanced Conflict Management Course. He carried out research in Europe, USA and Africa, and is currently involved in research and capacity building    at the Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and Environmental Studies at University of Nairobi.                Jens Emborg takes an interdisciplinary and holistic approach to complex problems by integrating natural and social science in his work. He has worked in policy and management settings and throughout his career bridged between research, policy and practice.
