This upcoming January 2019 Copenhagen and Malmo will have the pleasure to hold one of Rotaract Europe’s main events “Rotaract European Meeting (REM)”. This is a 4-day biannual European conference with about 400 participants from all over Europe and the world.
We chose to name the event “REM Øresund” with our main theme “Building Bridges” because we want participants to attend seminars and join workshops to gain cultural knowledge and understanding across the Øresund bridge. We wish to show off the best of Denmark and Sweden to all Rotaractors.
The event dates are from the 17th until the 20th January and most of the event will take place in Malmo, but Copenhagen will be in charge of the Opening Ceremony on the evening of 18th January which main purpose is to connect all Rotaractors in a ‘hygge’ environment where every country will have a booth/stand representing their country with their typical cuisine, handcrafts and merchandising. This event is an absolute opportunity to show the best that Copenhagen has to offer by opening its doors to different cultures. This Opening Ceremony will be followed by an Opening Party where all Rotaractors will be able to enjoy the insights of Copenhagen nightlife.
Moreover, on Saturday 19th January we will offer extra activities that will include a city tour, Carlsberg beer tasting, exploring the Viking ruins in Roskilde and of course the emblematic boat tour.
At the gala night on Saturday 19th January we will have a charity lottery where the funds raised will be given to support, ideally, a project in collaboration with Rotary.
